About Me
My name is Prunella Servatius-Hawke
I grew up in the English countryside as one of seven sisters, surrounded by nature. The landscape and changing seasons formed an early and lasting connection to the natural world that continues through my work.
I later spent eleven years in South Africa, where my artistic practice began to take shape, guided by an increasing fascination with colour, light and the vitality of the landscape.
After returning to Europe, I studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague. I later founded and ran my own art school, teaching both adults and children and sharing my passion for creative exploration.
A period of living in the Fayoum Oasis in Egypt brought a new dimension to my work. The vast desert landscape, the quiet rhythms of daily life, and the unique light of the oasis became a profound and enduring source of inspiration.
Back in The Hague, I trained as a painting therapist and later deepened my relationship with material and form through the three-year ceramics programme at SBB Gouda (Nederlandse Keramiekopleiding), which I completed in 2018.
I continue to live and work in The Hague, where my work in painting and ceramics remains closely connected to landscape, colour, and the natural world.
